Once a large Carolinian Bush, an Orchard, a small farm and ponds on a glacier gravel ridge, Deer Run Golf Course became and inspiration for John LeGros, owner and developer of this unique golf layout.

In the 80’s, John became increasingly aware that this sport was becoming very popular and attracting all age groups, so developing a challenging and interesting golf course would be a fantastic idea. John began by having his acreage rezoned and having an architect draw up plans. By the fall of 1993 a few enthusiasts tried out this wonderful layout and the official opening was in the spring of 1994.

Deer Run became such a huge success that another 9 hole course was only inevitable on the remaining 100 acres. This new and incredible layout began construction in 2000. June 2002 saw the gates open to this new 9 hole gem.

The entire LeGros Family is involved in the operations of Deer Run. They all credit its popularity to their great grounds, friendly atmosphere, clubhouse team and the patronage of everyone who has ever golfed here.

“Business should be fun and you can tell when you go to Deer Run that there are people behind it who actually enjoy what they are doing. They are proud of what they have created and strive each day on making the Deer Run Experience something special for everyone.”

Deer Run was recognized by the London Free Press’s Herbsy Awards in 2003, Rated #1 in Service, #2 in Greens for the Southwestern Ontario Area.

Quite Simply, it is a golfing haven unlike any other, a wonderful setting with enormous greens with a beautiful backdrop of Carolinian Hardwood Forests where water comes into play on 21 out of 27 holes. With an outstanding layout we hope to create memorable moments for golfers of all skill levels. But most importantly a wonderful setting to relax and unwind with friends and family.
